The Triomphe logo is as integral to Hedi Slimane’s design process as it is to the House of Celine. Upon arriving at the House in 2018, Hedi Slimane revived the iconic emblem, redesigning the Triomphe on his very first day.
Rich in House history, the origins of the Triomphe date back to 1971, when Celine Vipiana found herself on Paris’ Place de l’Étoile after her car broke down in front of the Arc de Triomphe. In all of its intricacies, she noticed the chain links and that decorative pattern would quickly become synonymous with Celine.
Under Hedi Slimane’s direction, the Triomphe logo remains Celine’s most important House motif, reappearing season after season in new ways that entice and delight.
For Winter 2024, a new House classic debuted as part of La Collection De L’Arc De Triomphe.
Classic With a Modern Sophistication
The collection as a whole is a beautiful ode to the 1960s and the brand’s golden years, so it’s fitting that the Nino bears the House’s most important emblem: the Triomphe.
The Nino embodies stylish modernity, designed to perfectly complement the collection’s ready-to-wear. At the same time, it offers a sleek, classic appeal, and Hedi Slimane strikes that delicate balance so well.
The making of the Nino is rooted in history, too. Traditional techniques help achieve the Nino’s distinct shape—structured yet supple. That juxtaposition allows the bag to feel chic and casual simultaneously, lending the perfect canvas for multiple ways of styling.
Versatility is where the Nino shines. Simple enough in shape with its feminine top handle and relaxed body, the decoration of the Triomphe logo hardware allows for the bag to be dressed up or down.
Celine Nino: Get the Details
Where function is concerned, the Nino comes in two sizes: Teen and Medium. Both sizes offer decent interior space. Inside, you’ll find a center-zipped pocket as a partition for the bag’s two interior compartments.
While the Teen has two inner flat pockets, the Medium offers three, though both sizes allow for maximum organization. The Nino was designed as a true top-handle bag, offering an air of French sophistication that is difficult to achieve. However, it does offer the option of a longer strap for shoulder or crossbody wear.
Arriving in smooth, supple calfskin, Triomphe canvas, and stunning patent leather, the Nino will quickly become a staple, relevant, and reached for in seasons to come. Discover the full range of the Nino via Celine.
